Hello! I'm kinda getting back into Subeta at the mo, and something I've always wanted to do was to actually get myself set up in the art market! So I'd really appreciate some pricing assistance!

I've actually been on a bit of an adoptable kick lately so a lot of my examples are based around that. I usually sell these for around $7-$10 in on-site currency or $5-$8 pure USD (varies between adopt) but I don't think Subeta has much of an adoptables market? :L And of course, if I sell art it probably won't be on bases.

I've also done a few overlays for my pets here: (newest to oldest) The fullsize of all of these is 800x800px and I do admit for the older artwork especially I went a bit OTT on the detail for something that gets resized so small ;A;

So, what do you think? Is there any interest in this kind of art?

I think those prices are good for adopts. I do not think adoptables are super popular here, but I have purchased some on DA. Those designs are definitely really neat, I like the first a lot.

For normal overlays I'd go for $20-30$ depending on complexity. (2-3kcsc// SP ranges from 10-12m per 100 atm I THINK?)

I would definitely be interested in a shop if you open one.

And that sounds good to me! One question I do have, however, if I'm going to sell overlays, would the topic go in the art market, or in the profiles and graphics one? In the rules topic for the latter it says "The selling/buying of pet profiles, overlays, buttons and any other related accessories also goes here in the Pet Profiles subforum" and then goes on to say "The Profiles and Graphics Market is not for the selling/buying of hand/tablet-drawn artwork or other real-world media creations. Those go in the Art Market." and it's literally confused me for years as I've seen people ask/sell both in both markets ;A;

I remember this coming up a few times and I can't remember if they changed it, but I remember ages ago if someone strictly went overlays it used to have to go into graphics which never made sense to me as they are drawn and not like... Redrawn from subeta art? I haven't seen that enforced in ages so I'm not sure. Do you plan on doing larger art than the overlays? If you plan on offering the adopts too ik that would be fine. I just can't remember about just overlays.

Maybe you know this cause idk I haven't seen anyone who only did overlays have their thread moved in ages. Is it only like subeta art edits that are moved now?

Aha I'm kinda glad to see it's not just me being daft about it :'D Tbh (at some point at least) I'm likely to offer normal art alongside the overlays, as I'm more than happy to draw humans or anything in poses that don't fit a square. So given that I should get a pass in the art market - it's nice to know I probably won't have to make separate sales topics for just overlays, however!

I love your art! I'd agree with pricing though you could charge a bit more for overly complicated overlays.

As for which forum I'd suggest making an art shop where you offer other things in addition to overlays (like the adptables and fullbodies or chibis) so you can easily put it in the art forum c:

Nope! That was kinda something that was kicked around a lot a year or so ago from what I remember, but I haven't seen any threads moved for being purely overlays in ages. (not fully drawn overlays anyway)

If you plan to offer that as well you definitely will not have an issue as many shops offer overlays along with other types of art. Even sketches, buttons, ext haha.
